Before we begin to talk about what we do, we should talk a bit about where
it is that we are doing it. GEAR UP Springfield is currently
housed in three schools, Schaefer Middle School, Springfield North High
School, and Springfield South High School. Here is a link to a great

GEAR UP Springfield's
objective is to help students and their families see the value and
opportunities that college can provide. It is a comprehensive
system of school- and community-based services, which includes:

GEAR UP Springfield is
preparing students, beginning in the middle school grades, and
continuing through high school, to participate in two- and four- year
colleges, technical schools and other forms of post secondary education.
GEAR UP Springfield is also providing them with information about
the financial assistance that will be needed to fulfill their
aspirations.
