Internships & Jobs

Community Service

Colleges usually want to know what interests you have. Community Service is a perfect opportunity to show that you are active in your community. Community Service can also enrich your life experiences and enhance your skills. Being a volunteer gives you the chance to make a difference in people's lives and have fun while you’re at it! You can volunteer at many hospitals, senior citizens homes, and most charitable organizations or political group.  You won't earn any money, but you can learn a lot.  Don’t forget to keep a log of your activities to use on your college resume!

Jobs and Internships

Gaining work experience by working as an intern, work study or at a part-time job will help you stand out from the crowd. An internship is a work-related learning experience for you to develop hand-on experience in a certain occupational field. An internship can help you develop good work habits, compare different work styles, and can lead to an offer of paid employment. It can offer knowledge and experience for your professional future. Seek internships in companies that pique your interest as a potential job site. Consider being an intern in an industry and place that you enjoy. Jobs can also give you practical experience, a chance to develop professional work habits, and some spending money.
